How am I a "health & wellness" coach? 

I don’t have a six pack. I don’t eat pounds of kale. In fact, you're more likely to find me eating a donut than most veggies. So who I am to call myself a "health and wellness coach?”

Allow me to introduce myself...

My name's Alicia - I'm 43, in the throws of perimenopause and don't like to cook. I like working out but don't have much time to dedicate to long classes so I morphed into a home workout junkie.

I didn't have time to workout - and was tired all the time.

A decade ago I had a baby and during that pregnancy, I gained about 60 pounds, 45 of which likely came from a high level of donut intake. The whole “nine months to gain it and nine months to lose it” idea didn’t apply in my case. After 9 months and a gym membership that rarely got used, half of the weight remained and I found myself in a general state of exhaustion. Sound familiar? It’s safe to say this was likely attributed to a combination of newborn life, my demanding full-time professional obligations as well as the travel schedule of my husband’s demanding career. Before I had a chance to figure out a plan to get control of my overall health and well being, baby number two was on the way and I found myself heavier than ever before with a second maternity leave that was about to end.

I needed simple.

"Simple" was the only way I was going to make it work.  I hated to cook, had little time to workout and spent most of my waking hours at my office while my kids were in daycare. So I started with 30 minute workouts at home that I did before the kids woke up. Then made some better food swaps in the kitchen with simple meals that were easy to prepare. And over time, I started seeing progress. I started FEELING progress. And both of those metrics kept me going and over a decade (and another baby) later, this has become my career. I show other busy women how to prioritize their own health and fitness so they can feel better - so they show up better as a wife and a mom and friend and all the other roles she plays.

And it doesn't matter how much you weigh - it's a matter of how healthy you feel. How confident you are. It's about your overall level of complete wellness.
